Akron Pool operational – Akron News-Reporter

The opening of the pool feels like the unofficial start of summer.

The Akron Pool opened for the 2022 season on Sunday, June 5, with Kilee Randel and Crystann Brown teaming up to run the facility. With the weather expected to be cooler next week, guests are eager to see those temperatures warm up so they can really enjoy what the pool has to offer.

Regular open swim hours will be 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. The swimming pool will be closed on Saturday. The lap swim began Tuesday, June 7 and will take place Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Everyone must pay to participate, and punch cards are available for freestyle and lap swimming.

Registration is ongoing for swimming lessons, with the first session taking place June 13-17. The second session is scheduled for July 11-15. Class sizes are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will be taken at the pool during opening hours and payment is due at that time. Private swimming lessons are available on request. Details of levels, prices and times for group lessons are available at the swimming pool.
