Gulshan police on Wednesday found the bloodstained and mutilated body of a private TV news producer on the bank of a lake, located on the west side of Fazle Rabbi Park, near Police Plaza in Dhaka. , which the police consider a premeditated murder.
The deceased, Abdul Bari (27), was a producer at the private television channel DBC News. He is from Sirajganj Sadar.
Bari’s older brother, Abdul Alim, filed a complaint with Gulshan police on Wednesday night against unnamed people.
According to Gulshan police, the body was found around 7 a.m. with stab wounds to the neck and chest.
The detective branch of the police is conducting a parallel investigation alongside the other police units in this murder incident.
The case statement says Bari walked out of the mess around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday from his Mohakhali Wireless Gate mess (house – ja 109/2) and never returned until his body was found the following morning.

Gulshan Circle Additional Assistant Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Hasan Firoz said it is believed Bari was first stabbed with a knife when he jumped into the water to save lives while his robes were wet . When Bari attempted to climb out of the water again, the killers confirmed his death by slitting his throat. The bloodstained knife, bag of money and mobile phone were found near his body.
Bari received his engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology. Last year, in December, he joined DBC News as senior executive producer. Previously, he worked at Mohona Television. In February this year, he started living in a mess in Mohakhali.
Bari’s relative, Anisur Rahman, told TBS that he was a calm person and there was no way he had an enemy. But some changes were noticed in his behavior after joining DBC. He became more introverted and did not maintain normal communication with anyone, he added.
Bari’s colleague and senior DBC producer Safayet Hossain said that no kind of conflict was noticed after Bari joined the DBC team.
But Bari mentioned quitting his job a few days ago without explaining the reason, he added.
