Lizzo gives TikTok love to news producer KSAT with duet video

SAN ANTONIO – A KSAT news producer becomes famous on TikTok after her hot take was shared by singer, songwriter and rap superstar Lizzo.

Lizzo recently made headlines for speaking out against the hateful comments she received on social media.

The Grammy winner recently shared an Instagram Live video where she explained that despite the positivity spreading around the world, people still have mean things to say about her, including comments about her weight.

Cue Alexsis Page, a KSAT news producer who is a huge Lizzo fan and is tired of body shaming.

Page took to TikTok on Monday to share her thoughts on the live-action remake of Disney’s 1997 film “Hercules” after another TikTok user shared her muse casting ideas saying she thinks Lizzo should be chosen as the full-bodied muse, Thalia.

While Page has no beef with the original person who shared her thoughts, she does have some strong opinions about why Lizzo was cast as Thalia.

“It pisses me off, people saying Lizzo should be Thalia makes no sense. The only reason people say that is because Lizzo is a bigger girl,” Page said in the TikTok She points out that she thinks Lizzo is more suited to play muse Terpsichore.

Page points out that Lizzo’s vocal range more closely matches LaChanze, the original voice of Terpsichore in the original film.

Page said she created the original TikTok because of her passion for representation in cinema.

“A few years ago when they announced the live action movie ‘Hercules’ I saw a lot of people on Twitter saying that Lizzo would be good for the role of Thalia. So now when the trend started again , I got really mad and felt like someone had to explain why she would be better off as a different muse,” Page said.

Lizzo clearly agrees with Page’s position. She dubbed the video on TikTok and shared it on her page on Tuesday where it currently has almost 6 million views in just 12 hours.

“I recorded the video on Monday morning. Soon after I recorded it, I realized she dubbed it when I was going through my TikTok notifications and some commented that she dubbed my video,” Page said.

“Lizzo’s songs are always so catchy and positive, which is 100% my style. And as a bigger girl myself, when I first found her, I thought it was cool that she didn’t sound like other pop/R&B singers,” Page said. “Then when I found out she was writing all her own music, I became even more impressed and that just grow since she became more popular.”

Since Page has been spending her days immersed in breaking news and focused on writing stories about serious topics like crime, COVID-19, and social issues, TikTok has been a great after-work outlet. Page has published numerous “diversity film reviews” where she rates films based on the diversity of their actors. Many of his videos got positive reactions, but this video exceeded his expectations. And getting some TikTok love from Lizzo makes her feel “good as hell.”

“I just want her to be the muse that will show off her talents best,” Page said.
