News Channel 11 meets the next generation of journalists | WJHL

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Tuesday night, Future Reporters asked the questions and News Channel 11 got the answers.

The News Channel team joined other organizations for Avoca Elementary School’s first-ever Career Night on April 5, which gave young students the opportunity to dip their feet in the water many different career options.

The next generation of reporters surrounded the News Channel 11 table as reporters Anslee Daniel and Nick Dugan, along with video reporter Kayla Carter, gave them the 411 day and night in a journalist’s life.

Breaking news, evergreen stories, weather, sports and investigations on news channel 11, the hopefuls got the full scoop on what the job entails and how to get there from the team that works every day to make headlines in the region.

Students were also able to meet professionals from the local fire and police departments who work around the clock to keep the community safe. Aspiring healthcare workers had the opportunity to speak with representatives from Ballad Health for insight into the life of a healthcare professional.

Eastman Credit Union and Frito Lay were also present at the event.
