WWBT, NBC12, Gray’s NBC affiliate in Richmond, Va., is looking for a motivated News Producer, MMJ/Reporter and Photojournalist

Richmond, Virginia is located on the James River, about 100 miles west of Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake, and just 70 miles east of Charlottesville. US news and world report Richmond says is the only area in America with whitewater rapids running through its downtown neighborhood. Downtown Richmond is anchored by Virginia Commonwealth University, which attracts a large crowd of young part-time residents. World-class museums, a vibrant food scene and a wide range of entertainment options from concerts and plays to family festivals can be found in Richmond. The Greater Richmond area has over 100 local parks and numerous recreational activities.

WWBT is seeking a full-time Producer to join Richmond’s number one news team.

The successful candidate must have strong news judgment, possess strong leadership skills and be able to perform well under pressure.

We are not looking for a show stacker.

Instead, the ideal candidate must be able to create compelling, research-driven content that is clear, concise, and relevant to our audience across all platforms.

The candidate must be a team player with the ability to work in an intense news environment and ready to blast a show minutes before airing.

On-site problem solving is a must for this job.

Applicant must be a strong writer for our station’s television and website.

Live remote reporting experience is essential.

WWBT NBC12, Richmond’s #1 TV news channel, is seeking a Photojournalist with 2 years of news videography experience to join our team.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated initiative in news gathering across all platforms, ENG cameras and video editing (Edius).

Responsible for maintenance of assigned equipment, operation of ENG trucks and energized devices.

The candidate will also have to contribute to the content of digital platforms.

Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts as required.

Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and good driving record required.
