Job Summary/Description:
WBKO is looking for a Morning News Producer for our dominant weekday morning show, AM Kentucky. This position creates, coordinates, writes and performs an engaging newscast to help our viewers start their day. Our show’s format includes breaking weather updates, local, regional and national news, as well as occasional live interviews.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Produce live newscasts, as well as produce and publish content on digital platforms * Manage the schedule, flow and rhythm of the morning newscast * Work with AM KY Anchor and the Meteorologist to present the best stories of the day and any weather changes morning routine
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Strong writing experience * Proficiency in creating stories and producing newsletters preferred. Training will be provided* Excellent news judgment* High level understanding of journalist ethics• Strong editorial and organizational skills• Enjoy a fast-paced environment with a desire to win• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously * Positive attitude and ability to help coach and mentor other team members * Drug screening and MVR verification required
